I have been trying to get my Meade LX200 GPS to work with Stellarium, I have got to the point where I have configured the scope in Stellarium, setting it up with the appropriate COM4 port, once configured I click on the Start button and get the connection verification the reticle shows on the screen, but when I try to control the scope via the keyboard nothing happens ( if I click on a planet and try to tell the reticle to go to the said planet by pressing Cntrl 1, it does not traverse.)

I am using the latest version of Stellarium 0.14.b and the scope has the latest version of Meade software 4.3g, I was advised by a friend to download a program called Stellarium Scope to run and download Ascom driver for the LX200 GPS, but I have not used this as I have read on the LX200 forum that configuring the LX200GPS should be done in Stellarium itself.

Why both telescopes on one COM port?

I don't use both scopes at the same time but I do use the same USB to Serial adapter which is in the same USB port, are you recommending that I have a different port for each Scope.

Your both telescopes are configured to use COM4 port only.

Should I reconfigure the LX200 to use a different COM port to eliminate any conflict

Hi Alexander,
I have reconfigured the LX200 to run off COM Port 8 and it works fine and controls the scope but the Stellarium screen begins to spin out of control, like it is rotating around a fixed point like Polaris.

Hi
Could you explain this error message :

OLE error 800A01A9, "MeadeLX200GPS" StellariumScope will now terminate. It is essential that you make sure your mount is not Tracking or Slewing.

Hi Alex
Good news I have finally achieved a semi stable connection to Stellarium which I can manage with I am still having a problem, and that is if I leave the computer on for a while and the screen goes to sleep for a while I loose connection and have to do a fresh 2 star alignment and then reconnect.

Thanks for the help and advice at least it's working.

Regards
George
