Thanks again Alex... made progress, but now I got this message... No OpenGL 2 found on system, use MESA or Older Version. Am I done or can I do something else. Has my system gone the way of the Dodo bird?

Yes, still a problem. The graphics card I have is a Radeon X600 256MB HyperMemory... not sure what all this means but I followed the instructions in FAQ to identify the card... Does it means that Stellarium will not work with what I have or do I need to use a different version (as in older)?

Version 0.12.6 is upper for this graphics card.

It means that 2004 hardware on a dead OS cannot be expected to run 2015 software. More in this FAQ:

FAQ #2570: “Common problems with version 0.13”.

Can you help with this problem?
