Arabic translations for 0.14.0

Asked by Khalid AlAjaji

Relating the Bug of Qt: https://bugs.launchpad.net/stellarium/+bug/1498616

Which clip Arabic text on Stellarium panels, I tried the workaround by adding blank spaces to strings. This worked on my machine locally but when I exported the translation file back and imported it again, the spaces were stripped and the problem appeared again.

Can I provide you with the ar.qm file that solves the problem temporarily until a Qt fix is available, that replaces the translation file which is built with Stellarium?

Are you tried adding spaces on the Rosetta?

What I do usually is import po file from launchpad. I do the translations which some times need adding \xe2\x80\x8e or \xe2\x80\x8f unicodes for ltr rtl text direction. This is necessary for bilingual text and text containing neutral chars like degree signs. I test the translations after conversion to qm file and then upload it back.

For Rosetta, I do not know what it is or how to deal with it.

Launchpad Rosetta (https://translations.launchpad.net/stellarium/trunk/+lang/ar) is tool for translation with web interface. This tool generates *.po files for Stellarium.

Yes. This is what I use. I didn't know it's called Rosetta. But sometimes I cannot use directly. I must download the translation file as *.po , do my translations , then upload again. It seems to strip leading and trailing blanks.

Any how, I will keep translating the strings until the new release is ready and then I will provide a translation file as a patch.

Can you help with this problem?
