Celestron NexStar

Asked by Sean Shifflette

I am researching if I can use Stellarium to connect my laptop to my Celestron NexStar controller for the Equatorial Mount, as well as use Stellerium to interface with my Canon Digial Rebel XTI, to aid in a Polar Alignment and "Sky Map" alignment. If Stellarium can not support these features, can you recommend a software package that can so what I am looking for? Thank You. Sean Shifflette

Stellarium has no control interface to Canon (or other) cameras. You can control the NexStar with the telescope plugin e.g. to GOTO selected objects. Alignment would be done first, with whatever the NexStar manual says. For other software titles, ask in amateur astronomy forums (e.g. cloudynights.com) or your local astronomy club. Clear Skies!

Can you help with this problem?
