Save settings when updting Stellarium

Asked by Jeff Struve

When I update Stellarium versions.... going from 13.2 to 13.3... how do I make sure that I don't loose all of the locations and occulars that I've set up?

Thanx

You can make a reserve copy of data from Stellarium's user directory.

I couldn't find it.... I took the defaults when I installed 13.2

Darn! I made copies.... left them in the folders thinking it would not blow them away... it blew away the oclulars copy, but not the locations copy...

I guess custom location will be saving in any case.

You avoid deletion of user configuration data if you don't activate installation options that say something like "delete user data", "delete user-installed landscapes", "reset config" , etc. As in every installation, never just click "continue" blindly.
