No light from moon and Sun

After downloading the program, the Sun and Moon don't have light when you zoom in on them. I'm using the program to see moon phases, and it's impossible since the light won't show when you zoom in on the moon. I'm looking at a full moon in the program and it says it's 99.9% illuminated, but pitch black. Previous versions of this program that I have on other machines work just fine. Please help!
