fixed perspective

Asked by matt

I've been unable to find a way to fix my location on a particular constellation so that if I move forward or backwards in time I must relocate. Is there a way for me to remain on the perspective of say Leo for example while cycling through 100s or 1000s of years? In other words, if I'm interested in looking at what takes in place in one constellation over a period of time am I able to do that without having to relocate it after jumping forward in time? Thank you

Try this:

- select a star at the center of the constellation

- center your selection on the screen by pressing the space bar on your keyboard

- now when you change the time by shortcut keys or through the time window, the selction will remain centered on the screen
