How to Control a Celestron Ultima 2000

Asked by Jon White

I would like to use Stellarium to control my Celestron Ultima 2000 telescope from an ASUS notebook PC running Windows 8.1. I have purchased a cable with 4-pin output, but the input on my hand controller is 6-pin. I cannot figure out how to connect it properly and configure the software. Would greatly appreciate your assistance. I can send you a jpg image of the wiring diagram from my manual if you need it.
 With all best wishes.

Celestron Ultima 2000 is not supported by Stellarium. It uses an outdated version of the Celestron control commands which are not recognized by Stellarium.

You might still be able to control it if there is a working ASCOM driver for it, with StellariumScope. StellariumScope is a third-party application that acts as a bridge between Stellarium and ASCOM drivers.

As for the cable, I'm afraid that I can't help you with any hardware issues. I suggest asking at a specialized forum for Celestron mounts.

Can you help with this problem?
