I cannot set the default location. Ubuntu 13.10 OS

Asked by Bill Trimarco

When I enter the longitude and latitude for my location, the star map responds. When I click on set default, nothing happens. Same situation when I try to enter a new location name. OS is ubuntu 13.10

Are you meant put check "Use as default" on Location window?

Yes, "use as default" box does not respond after I have inserted the new coordinates in the sections above.

OK. Are you saved the entered coordinates and location's name as item for locations list before checks "use as default" - http://www.stellarium.org/wiki/index.php/Configuration#Setting_Your_Location ?

I deleted my location from the list and started over in the proper sequence, first the coordinates and then the location name, then "add to list". All is well now. Thank you!

I have entered my location coordinates and location name which is fine (it is now listed). Unfortunately every time I close Stellarium and open it up again it opens up at another place usually about 30 odd miles or more away. How do I default it to my location please? Thank you, Angus
