no stars only triangles? / Keine Sterne sondern nur Dreiecke??

Asked by Xaver Hafer

Hallo,

Hello,
I just downloaded Stellarium but instead of stars there are strange triangle-shaped symbols (I made a screenshot but I dont know how to attach it :D) and i dont know if this is because of my grafic chip or PC or if I have the wrong settings..Does anyone know what it could be or what i could try except restarting or reinstall the program (i did both but nothing worked)?
Thanks :))

You need install drivers for graphics card - I think you have installed WDM driver from Microsoft with limited support of OpenGL.

This worked for me too! [using a VisionTek Radeon 4350. The microsoft supplied driver worked fine for everything else, so I had not bothered to switch it to the latest ATI manufacturer driver.

Is this something that will reoccur for future versions? I'd love to see Stellarium be able to allow for auto-installed OS drivers that if possible.

Yes, this will be reoccur again and again for future versions if you have WDM drivers. Of course you can use default drivers and get support graphics level previous century on latest modern graphics card.
