trouble connecting to Synscan Version 2.05

Hello

I am running windows xp, have an older eq6 mount and running synscan handcontroler version 2.05. I cannot seem to connect using the Nextstar compatible driver. What am I doing wrong?

Stellarium requires SynScan version 3.0 or later, because it uses the "high precision" NexStar commands, which are not supported by SynScan 2.05.

I think this was mentioned in the documentation.
