Satellite plug-in Can you set the POV to a satellite?

Is it possible to set a satellite from the plug-in to be the point of view for Stellarium? It would be great to be able to, for instance, observe the Earth from the POV of the ISS or see the sky from Hubble in real time.

No, it not possible. You can use Celestia for this tasks.

Already tried with Celestia. Results were not satisfactory either in apperance or accuracy.

They would be even less so in Stellarium if it was possible.

(Actually, it is - you can define a satellite as a Solar System body, a mini-moon of Earth. This was the only way to add the ISS for example before the existence of the Satellites plug-in. It didn't work very well.)

With the advent of the Satellites Plug-in, and its superior tracking/updating, is there a way to set ones view point on a satellite? it should only be a matter of a few transformations, from an earth location, being roughly earth centric....

Featrues Request if work arounds do not already exist:

swap POV button, use with any object selected, switches your point of view location to that object, rotates view 180 around current y axis

numerical control of POV location and direction - plug-in? using various coordinate systems.

use a TLE format to script/describe a dynamic POV?

I would be happy to contribute, if such a plug-in is possible, I'll write it....

All of the things you want are better done with something that already supports limited "spaceflight", such as Celestia. Stellarium's current Satellites plug-in displays only markers, and Stellarium's pointing system is limited to the two standard telescope mounts - altaz and equatorial.
