I think the crashed module is Intel's graphics driver. Maybe update this?

I updated graphics driver although there was no change in version number .
Build 8.14.10.1930
Now it shows it is runing in the task manager, but all there is on the screen when it is running is a intermintent flashing half useless pointer , and the only way to regain control of the computer is to get to task manager with Ctl alt del and kill it .
Any Ideas ?

Have you downloaded the new driver package directly from Intel or just from Windows update? Try to find the latest package for your hardware from Intel, usually from 2011. I don't see your graphics engine name, but the log file indicates your graphics card only supports OpenGL1.4. This should still be enough, but you should also use the "no OpenGL2" option. Can you run some graphics-heavy games on your PC? Or try to run http://
I tried yesterday, Stellarium runs even on a vintage 2002-Pentium III with Intel 430M (OpenGL1.3!).

The "no OpenGL2" option works the same.
Just intermintent flashing half useless pointer.
The driver package for the G33/G31 Chipset was directly from Intel
and according to there driver checker software is up to date.

The driver versions in your last 2 messages are not the same. But I see 8.15.10.1930 (9-23-2009) as indeed latest version from Intel.
Has Stellarium ever worked in previous versions on your PC? Any other OpenGL applications?
Maybe you can play with the driver settings? I cannot help on details, unfortunately.
If you can, you may want to add a cheap dedicated graphics card (NVidia or AMD) to your PC?

Here is a link to the Open GL setings on the video driver.

It is set to the default settings

Yes, I know the Intel panel from my netbook (GMA3150, OpenGL1.4), where it just works without real problems. What about older Stellarium versions? Other OpenGL programs? As far as I know, hardware requirements have not changed in the last versions, so I would expect trouble as well. Always try the "no OpenGL2" version. I am afraid I cannot help further than with my previous answer, sorry.

I noticed that when you go into the Device Manager
It shows 8.15.10.1930 (9-23-2009)
Then when you go to driver details an look at any of the .dll files they are listed as 8.14.10.1930 just like the Version on the tests
I had tryed it several years ago on another computer and was impressed.
Now on this Intel E8400 Dual Core which has had no problem with any other display issues ???
As far as OpenGL Games ,I dont do games so I am at a loss un less you can advise .
Any other OpenGL applications?
This machine will run :
Adobe After Effects
Adobe Photoshop CS5.1
Adobe Premiere Pro
Celestia
Google Earth
Google SketchUp

One last idea, I don't know if this might help.
Edit the "Stellarium (no OpenGL2)" link. Complete the Target line:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Stellariu
(Note only one hyphen in the first switch.)
Then start with this link. Good luck!

I changed the target line to : "C:\Program Files (x86)\Stellariu
Still no luck
Then I looked at the last two words in the target line and tried Safe Mode
It works in Safe Mode .
Resolution is poor
I now cannot get Celestia and Google Earth to work .
I am going to lie down and dream of the 1960s and crystal radios when life was simple.

GEORG
I FIXED IT !!!!!!
Works Like A Charm !
It was the Intel G31 Chipset Driver
Went to Device Manager and Deleted the Display Adapter
Then reboot with no Display Adapter Stelarium works but like a slow dog
Then let Windows detect that there is no driver for the Display Adapter
Windows then Automaticly Installs
Driver version 8.15.10.1749
Driver Date 5/6/2009
Not The Latest But it Works , Stelarium,Celestia and Google Earth
Thanks for your help !!
You help me Keep Digging !!

Ah, that's good to read. Actually, --safe-mode is the "no OpenGL2" mode, so this should have then worked before. Oh well, I keep rotating the prayer wheel, "update your drivers ..."
If all works, please set the question to "closed". Have fun with the software, but don't forget the real sky ;-)

The most up to date driver 8.15.10.1930 (9-23-2009) does not work.
The driver that windows picks 8.15.10.1749 (9-6-2009) does work.
So "update your drivers ..." should be roll back your drivers.
This would solve most of the problems that people are having with the G31 Chipset.
Thanks for your Help
