Stellarium window off top of screen (OS X)

Asked by notMyName

Greetings,

I just tried to upgrade from Stellarium 0.10.2 to 0.11.1. When in 0.11.1 I switch out of (the default) full-screen mode, the window that results is partly off the top of the screen and the title bar is inaccessible so that the window can be neither moved nor minimized. I have tried removing the existing ~/Library/Preferences/Stellarium and ~/Library/Cachesstellarium but that didn't help.

I need to be able to use Stellarium as a window - is there something I can do to fix this, or should I just stick to using 0.10.2?

OS X 10.6.8 intel

Thanks.

Stellarium does not save the position of its window (for now), so problems like this one are caused by your window manager.

If the window is too large to fit the screen, find your configuration file - "config.ini", it's in ~/Library/Preferences/Stellarium. In the configuration file, find "screen_h" and "screen_w" under "[video]" - these values determine respectively the height and width of the window when Stellarium is in windowed mode.

Otherwise, this page contains a number of different suggestions:

Apparently, this is not an uncommon problem on Mac OS X.

Thanks for the reply. I was actually able to get the problem fixed by deleting the ~/Library/Application Support/Stellarium directory.
