Celestial Objects Moving Backwards

Asked by lance black

Installed Stellarium for the first time and all my objects appear to moving in reverse. Instead of Jupiter travelling S to N it is going in the opposite direction. So is everything else, the moon etc is going backwards.

I think that the location coordinates are set to be S(outh) instead of N(orth) or the other way around.

Verify if you set your location correctly.

Hello! My location is set as London, UK. I presume this is interpreted as North? Many thanks.

Yes, London, UK interpreted as North. Please open config.ini and check values for flip_horz and flip_vert parameters. Normal value for this parameters is false.

Hi Lance,
This is what I understand from your question:

- You set your view looking East, or South
- You increase the time speed
- Moon and planets seem to rise and travel north to south; clockwise

If my understanding is correct, this should be normal.

Can you help with this problem?
