markings on ecliptic, meridian, celestial equator

Asked by Ken

Is there any particular reason that the ecliptic, celestial equator, and meridian do not have markings for months, RA, and degrees, respectively? It would be extremely helpful if this could be added, especially month markings on the ecliptic. Thank you!

Give examples of the use for astronomical problems, where such things would have been necessary?

I use Stellarium in teaching my large astronomy classes and assign homework for my students using Stellarium and find that having labels and tick marks on these reference lines is of enormous help trying to visually get concepts across more cleanly. Especially ecliptic labeling. I like how NightShade has this feature. If there are folks opposed to labeling the ecliptic perhaps it is a feature that could be turned off. There are many examples, just one would be showing the analema. It would be helpful to cleanly show the extreme points in terms of degrees. Thank you.
