proper motion of stars

Hello,

I would like to know if the proper motion of stars is taken into account while calculating their positions far into the future or past.
If not, then is there a way to include it.

I would be glad, for any help I can get, as I am trying to use Stellarium as a virtual astronomy lab in a course.

Yes, but we only do linear extrapolation of current proper motion rates.

Can you help with this problem?
