wishlist: satellite direction indicator

Asked by Jesse McTernan

Hello,

Completely awesome program. I use it all the time and show everybody who comes to my office.

When I turn on satellites it shows a trail before and after it, but I can't tell which way it is going immediately. Can this feature be added? Perhaps a small ball or arrow at one end only to show which way it is headed.

Also, the path of planets will display, but I don't know which planet it is associated with (unless I turn off the ground and hunt the planet down)

Thanks

Jesse

I don't know how that would best be displayed - do you have some idea?

I don't know if there is a "hover over" feature, but if the mouse is over the satellite line maybe a few arrows could be sparsely distributed on the line.

Problem, the arrows are associated with time. So, when rewinding the arrows would have to change directions.

In fact, a hover feature would be good for the planet trails also. One could hover over the mysterious red line to determine what planet it is associated with.

----------------------------<----Mercury-------------------------
              or
----------------------------------Mercury---->-------------------

Hover over would eliminate the problem of multiple titles overlapping (except at line intersections) because only one title will be displayed at a time.

Thanks

If there is no "hover over", then maybe the distribution of arrows along the line would appear on a satellite's trail once the satellite is selected.

As for the planet orbit labels. I suppose a check mark below and indented to "show planet orbits" could say "show planet orbit labels"
(in the last comment I said, "trails" I meant "orbits". I think trails are obvious because the planet is at the end.)

Just ideas :-)

Can you help with this problem?
