1. We are recommend install 0.10.6 after fully uninstall 0.10.4, but you can upgrade Stellarium

2. You need update TLE for Satellites plugin

Thanks! However, although I'm not a computer rookie, neither am I technical. So:-

1. OK, gulp! Where from, install or upgrade?

2. Where do I get the update TLE for Satellites plugin (I think I know, but would like to check).

Cheers!

What is your operating system?

There's no integrated upgrade process. You can try installing 0.10.6 "over" 0.10.4, but it would be better if you un-install the old version first and delete the user data directory.

Where the user data directory is depends on your OS. On Windows XP, it's something like:
C:\Documents and Settings\YOURUSERNAME\Application Data\Stellarium
On Windows Vista, the path is something like:
C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Stellarium
If you have downloaded additional star catalogs, to avoid downloading them again, you can leave the "/stars" subdirectory and delete only the other stuff.

As for the ISS, what exactly is the problem? It's not where Stellarium shows it to be?

By default, the Satellites plug-in downloads periodically satellite orbits data from celestrak.com. If you don't have an Internet connection, the data may be obsolete. You can force manually an update from the Satellites plug-in's configuration window.

Many thanks!

1. I found the ISS - but when I tried again, it didn't want to know. Will keep trying!

2. I will try to install over 0.10.4 as I don't want to lose the User Data. Otherwise I will do as suggested.

Will keep you posted.

To see the ISS, you need to have version 0.10.6 of Stellarium installed. I would not recommend installing "over" the old version - you should uninstall 0.10.4 and then install 0.10.6. You will not lose your settings, as they are not deleted when you uninstall.

Once you have 0.10.6 installed do this to see the ISS:

1. Find the Satellites button on the lower tool bar. Make sure it is enabled.
2. Open the search dialog (F3)
3. Type in "ISS"

If Satellites are enabled on the toolbar, but Stellarium still doesn't find the ISS, you need to open the Satellites plugin configuration dialog and enable it there. Note: this should only be necessary if you have manually disabled ISS from the list of satellites, either by editing the satellites.json file, or by some other means:

1. Press alt-z (or select the "configure" button from the plugins tab in the config dialog, while "Satellites" is selected from the list of plugins).
2. Note you can configure TLE updating from this dialog. The plugin will automatically update TLE data periodically. By the time you see the dialog, the first update will probably be complete.
3. Go to the "Satellites" tab of the dialog
4. Make sure [all] or "scientific" is selected in the combo box at the top left
5. Find the ISS in the list, select it
6. Make sure the "visible" checkbox is ticked.
