Making a custom tracking list

Asked by Robert Forrester

I would like to have a one satellite list so I can follow the space station without seeing any other satellites. Can I add a custom list or turn off all the other satellites? Are you planning an update to show when a satellite is illuminated by the sun?

You can turn off all satellites except one using the following method:

- Open the Satellites dialog.
- Go to the Satellites tab
- in the combo box at the top left, select [all]
- left-click on the first satellite in the list
- hit control-a to select all
- un-check the "visible" check box
- un-check the "orbits" check box
- find the satellite you want to display
- make it the sole selection
- check visible and/or orbit as you wish

You can hit the save button in the bottom right corner of the dialog to make these changes persistent.

Note that this method is for the version of the Satellites plugin which shipped with the Stellarium 0.10.6 release.

Solar illumination of satellites is working in my development branch of the Satellites plugin, so I expect it will be in the next release. No flares yet though.

Can you help with this problem?
