No mouse pointer when running Stellarium on Vista 6.0 sp2

Asked by Chuck Clover

Just installed Stellarium 0.10.6.1 on PC running Vista 6.0 w/ service pack 2. Stellarium launches but there is no mouse pointer showing on the screen. If I move the (invisible) pointer to the bottom (or left side), the tool bar does appear. When I move left or right, whatever the invisible pointer is pointing to does highlight. Also, I have to use Task Manager to stop the app. Have rebooted the PC. Thanks

Do you have mouse tails turned on? Someone recently found that this
can cause problems.

"Mouse Tails" is probably shown as "display pointer trails" under "pointer options" in "mouse properties" in Control panel, "hardware and sound" area. Clearing that check-box resolved the no curser visible problem.
