latest Stellarium for Ubuntu Karmic

Can someone tell me where or how I can install Stellarium under Ubuntu Karmic, preferably using Synaptic or apt-get? Thanks...

I suppose that by "the latest" you mean 0.10.4? It will be included in Lucid Lynx, if you are willing to wait a few weeks.

Otherwise, no, there's no official .deb package for 0.10.4 for Karmic. One of the reasons is that 0.10.4 requires version 4.6.* of the Qt libraries, and Karmic only has the packages for 4.5.*.

The official way is to install it from a source package, but you will need to download and install the Qt libraries, and then build Stellarium from source. There may be a PPA (Personal Package Archive) with unofficial packages of Qt 4.6 for Karmic somewhere on Launchpad (this website), which may make the process easier, but I haven't looked for one.
