Do you mean saving a custom location, or setting a specific location as your default location?

Try deleting Stellarium's configuration file (config.ini). On Windows Vista, the path to the folder that contains it should be something like C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Stellarium.

After that, restart Stellarium - it will create a new copy using the default configuration file - and try again.

Thank you  for the quick response,I deleted the file and re entered Spring Valley ,New York in the list ,that seemed to fix it.Your system is absolutely great and especially mind blowing, especially after using  Cosmi /Guide To The Galaxy since the 90's .I finally discovered Stellarium and yes I was blown away by the detail , info , sheer beauty and ease of use! Thanks again so much for everything!
