Printing

Asked by EliO

Hi.
Is it possible to print a certain night sky to bring outdoors? Sometimes when I go out to watch the nightsky, it is not possible to bring my computer to identify the different stars etc. Is it possible to print out a specific night sky to bring with me when I go outdoors with my telescope?
Thanks,
Eli

No, not directly.

You can make screenshots and print them with a separate program. To make printing easier, there's an option to invert the colours in the screenshots so that the stars are dark objects on light background: in the configuration window (F2), the "Tools" tab, under "Screenshots", the "Invert colors" checkbox.

Screenshots are created by pressing Ctrl+S while Stellarium runs. They are automatically saved in PNG format in the directory specified in the configuration window mentioned above. (It is usually the desktop or "My Documents" or the user directory on Linux.)
