Sparkle "does not have permission" error

Asked by pcwiz

Hi,

I have an AppleScript Studio app we'll just call "App". I successfully installed Sparkle into it. The problem is, after it downloads an update I click on "Install and Relaunch" and I get this error:

"App does not have permission to write to the application's directory! Are you running off a disk image? If not, ask your system administrator for help"

I've already tried running this from the Desktop and Documents folder, and I've also repaired permissions. What's wrong?

Are you using the latest version of Sparkle from the Bazaar repository? If so, check your console: there should be more detailed information there.

I figured out the problem. The app name didn't match the CFBundleName which is why I was getting the error. Its fine now and working great :) BTW I was using Sparkle 1.1.
