Check for new version makes Sparkle not work.

I downloaded Sparkle and it launched OK. Then it asked me if I wanted to check now for a new version and I said yes. After the new version downloaded, Sparkle would no longer work.
I wish I could show you the screen shot I took but an OS X dialog box popped up that said, "You can't open the application "Demo App" because it is not supported on this architecture.
Any help is appreciated.
