Can Sparkle be used with a sandboxed app?

Apps in the sandbox aren't able to use Launch Services (or -[NSWorkspace openFile:]) to open apps, so Sparkle's relaunch tool won't work. Sandboxed apps also won't be allowed to write to locations outside their containers (such as /Applications) without the user's explicit consent by navigating to the desired location with a Save panel.
Are there any thoughts about how to use Sparkle with a sandboxed application?
