Adding x-platform REAL Studio (REALbasic) code

Asked by Thomas Tempelmann

Andy,

I am writing a generic version of the Sparkle updater engine in REALbasic, to work on OSX, Windows and Linux.

I wonder if you like this added to your repository when I am done with it?

It would be a separate "product", which doesn't use your code at all. The only thing related to Sparkle is that it uses the same appcast files and the same plist keys for configuration.

The currently version will not even do the installation on its own. Instead, it'll just offer to download it, letting the user to do the rest.

Eventually I (or someone else) might integrate your Sparkle framework for OSX seemlessly.

That sounds like a great idea, but I don't think it would make sense to have the projects share a repository. Best of luck with it, though!

Can you help with this problem?
