Is it possible to change the bit depth (from 24 to 16bit)

I Have a couple of high resolution files (FLAC) with a bit-depth of 24 and up.
My portable player only supports 16 bit, so I want to convert it,
but I can't find any parameters for that (FLAC would be still the format I prefer)

Is there a solution ?
