How to ask refund for non-working paid apps/games

Asked by Onkar Shinde

I recently bought a game 'Unlikely Suspects' on my laptop on Ubuntu version 10.10 if I remember correctly. It was not working because of some OpenGL error. I thought this was related to DRI not being enabled on sandy bridge chipset. Then I upgraded laptop to 11.04 and the game is still not working. Now I do not plan to upgrade to 11.10 just to test the game again. So I am left with a paid but non-working app. I would love to have a refund of money and the game be removed from my list of purchased apps. What is correct procedure for that? If a refund is not possible can anyone at least tell me where can I report bug for this game as I could not find any button in software center to report bugs for paid apps.

Hello Onkar! Thank you for your question and I apologize for my delay in responding. I'm sorry for your trouble and indeed, a refund should be available for you. You can find details about how to go about getting your refund at this FAQ page:

  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Pay/FAQs

Regarding reporting of bugs or other problems with software for purchase, we are currently working on this capability for Precise. The specification for this is here:

  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SoftwareCenter#isv-support

As an early step, we will very soon be including a link to a support website on the details page for those vendors that provide such a link. This will be available in the next development release of Software Center in Precise.

Thank you again and best regards,
Gary
