I am unhappy with the mail software Evolution. Now I have downloaded Mozilla Thunderbird, which is supposed to run in LINUX as well. But how do install it now? I am a novice to LINUX, so the commandline of Linux doesn't mean anything for me. I would need a step by step explanation for my problem. Is there anyone who could do this for me? Please let me know I will be very grateful for this.

Asked by Karl Clarici

As I am completly new on Linux (Ubuntu 10.04) I had problems on installing Mozilla Thunderbird on my Laptop (ACER Aspire 7540G) Evolution allways did things I did not like (disappearing mails, not being able to delete unwanted mails etc. So therefore I wanted to change it into Thunderbird, which I know long from my Windows time. I would need a step by step explanation for the installation as for me the commandline of LINUX is still something I never used. Please who ever would take the time to help me on this would be very much enclosed in my daily prayers. Thanks !!

Go to "Ubuntu Software Center" and search for "thunderbird". Select "Mozilla Thunderbird" and press "Install"

name (just thunderbird) and in the wrong category (officesoftware
instead of internet. Its all fine now. I am very happy.
