Install multiple programs at the same time

Asked by Stephen Rees-Carter

I've noticed that when I use the Software Centre that you cannot install multiple applications at the same time. You need to wait for the current install to be completed. If you are installing a large application, this means you have to wait a while.

The problem is that if you are going through a list of apps and want to install a couple to test, you can't quickly click "install" on each and keep looking.

Is this done by design, or is it a bug with the system?

I am running 10.04 beta 1.

Hi Stephen. Indeed, this is a bug and is not by design. You'll be happy to know that we are working on a fix for this as we speak, and it is targeted for release by beta-2. I'll link the bug report so that you can track the fix.

Thanks for your question! Please let us know if you need further info, etc.

Best regards,
Gary
