How do I add a line to my system software sources?

Asked by Phillip Wayne

The thingy says I am supposed to add

deb https://exuyangi:<email address hidden>/commercial-ppa-uploaders/steam/ubuntu precise main

to my system softward sources. Can someone tell me (step by step, line by line, character by character) what that means and how to do it? Running Ubuntu 12.04
