bought Fluendo codec pack but how do I add it to my "software resources" and use the ppa key?

Asked by John Ellis

Same as summary. I bought, through the software centre a fluendo codec pack but the email link to add it to my software resources did not explain how to do that or how to add the ppa key. Can you give me some more explicit instructions?

Perhaps I was too quick to question ...as it seems that the software centre has displayed a green check mark now acknowledging the install.

I can also see that when I open the repository tab in synaptic package manager that the ppa has registered.

Although it seems that streaming video to the movie player was not possible until I installed the free fluendo streaming application that is available from the software centre. This application seemed to hang and that was because it was waiting for a reply to a question screen that appeared behind the installer window.

(that is it was out of visible range and the installer was not really hanging at all....I have seen this happen before and wonder if the "mouse click focus" keeps the popup question panel from appearing in the foreground?

In any event I seem to be rambling...there is a resolved issue at hand. The movie player now redilly accepts streaming content from my browser when I visit web sites to watch reruns of Farscape!
