Slingshot-launcher not working fine?

Hi Guys ,

Just installed the newest release of Elementary OS Freya released today. Fresh install into a virtual machine on VMWare 11. Without or with the open-vm-tool installed the slingshot seems not to work correcly. I've been able to see it a couple of time but everytime it shown itself it was staying stuck on my desktop.

Am I the only one with this type of problem ?

have u also treid virtual box? because my experience is that vmware is bad with graphical things.

I have experienced this also however it was using Virtual Box.
The issue was proved to be due to a graphic display driver.

Is you graphics card on-board or dedicated?
Also have you enabled compiz?

The only way that i made it work was by purging the software, reboot and reinstall the software.

It could be nice to have a logging system about this software. (From my search there was none)

No its a dedicated graphis card. and no Compiz was used. Fresh install.
