PDF scan file size

Simple Scan 3.12.1 on Mint 17.2 64bit produces again huge pdf files. A four page 150dpi scan size was 18 Meg and could not be sent due to size limit. Under Win10 HP scan software produced a 328Kb 100dpi file of the same document.

Turned out that I had the quality setting set to full "better" position. This makes the size of the scan "explode" but has not the same effect on quality. Setting the quality slider more to the left reduces the size.
