Simple Scan

old Hewlett Packard ScanJet 5100C in Fedora?

I got this old scanner ( Hewlett Packard ScanJet 5100C ) to work for me from Windows 95 to Windows XP ; but with Windows 7 it's a real NO GO!!! Could I get it to work in Linux Fedora? How do I do it? Thank You

most important thing is that is supported in sane via sane-backends / hplip
then it should work with "all" linux scanning apps, such as scanimage, xsane, simple-scan, skanlite, ...
