I can't e-mail my documents : nothing happens on ctrl+E

Asked by newmorning

Hello,

I really appreciate Simple Scan. I'm using 3.4.1 version under Lubuntu 12.04

I wish I could use "send mail" fonctionnality, through ctrl+E or document menu, but nothing happens on my computer. I tried to configure lubuntu to use firefox or chromium (I'm using gmail webmail) as a mail client, it does not even them. If I configure sylpheed, it starts an empty message with no attachment.

What sould be done ?

Thanks !

simple scan uses xdg-email to create emails. please check if you can successfully create an email when running xdg-email from command line.

You are right : this must be the problem, since nothing happens on command line (no error message, nor mail received).
Unfortunatly xdg-email manual does not give correct information about how to change anything appropriate for me : it sends to http://portland.freedesktop.org/wiki/EmailConfig but as far as this part is concerned, my configuration is allready OK.

What could be done ?

i dont really know. you need to find someone (in launchpad, irc, ...) who has better knowledge about xdg-email, and repair it so that it works when invoked from command line. if that works it should automatically work within simple-scan as well.

please keep in mind that thunderbird currently does not allow to attach files to emails created this way...

Can you help with this problem?
