Simple Scan opens browser instead of e-mail

Asked by Robert M. Williams-Neal

I attempted a number of times to send a newly scanned document from Simple Scan via e-mail. The program opened my Firefox browser and not Thunderbird. The messabe onFirefox was it was not able to find the mailto: address for the .pdf document.

the verison I was using on Linux Mint was 3.2 so I downloaded and compiled version 3.4, thinking there may have been a fix. Unfortunately, the same thing occurred: the borwser was opened and not e-mail. In Simple Scan there is no way to configure which (if any) e-mail program to use.

simple-scan used "xdg-email --attach $FILENAME" to create mails.
could you try is that works when invoked from command line with some file?
xdg-email can be configured via gnome or kde...

Can you help with this problem?
