Sikuli1.0rc2 works ok with RDP from WinServer 2012, but does not work with RDP from Win Server 2019

Asked by Tudor Niculescu

Hi,

I am using Sikuli1.0rc2 to run some automated tests at my job. We are having one VM with Win 7 SP1 that has the sikuli harness installed with tests and everything, and we have an AppServer that has a rdp connection to the Sikuli VM.

The usual workflow is to :

 - from local computer, RDP to the AppServer
 - from the appServer, RDP to the Sikuli VM
 - start the sikuli automated tests
 - leave the rdp connection from the appServer to the Sikuli VM open over night
 - close the rdp connection from the local computer to the appServer
 - do some other stuff for my job while the sikuli tests are running

The above described workflow ran fine. Now, we want to upgrade our appServers to Win Server 2019. The above workflow does not work. After i close the RDP connection from the local computer to the Win Server 2019 AppServer, the Sikuli fails to match any image and it "sees" only a black screen.

 - I checked the appServer 2019 settings regarding Power and Sleep to make sure the monitor is not turned off due to inactivity but the issue still reproduces.

Has anyone succeeded in running a similar workflow using RDP from Win Server 2019 ?

Thanks in advance,
Tudor Niculescu
