How does Sikuli invoke OpenCV? Will it work if install OpenCV on Ubuntu?

I installed Sikuli on Ubuntu but I don't have pattern matching enabled. I followed the tutorial to get OpenCV working from here:

but it is not working, so I would like to know if Sikuli invokes OpenCV from the command line or something like that so that it will work if I follow just a regular OpenCV installation, like described here:
