how do I move Sikuli from downloads to /Applications directory on mac

Asked by Marc Summers on 2018-10-12

I messed up and installed 1.1.3 from the downloads directory.
So how do I move it to the /Applications directory.
Or, in other words, which files / directories have to be moved
over to the /Applications directory ?

what directory are you talking about?

In doubt delete everything that you have for SikuliX including the SikuliX-AppData and start over from scratch

Oh, my apologies:

I installed on a Mac Mojave OS not on Windows.
I did not know for sure where everything gets installed.

finally I do not understand, what your problem is.

Please, allow me to explain in detail.

I have a Macintosh laptop, with Mojave OS installed on it.
I needed to install Sikuli 1.1.3 on it.
When I went to the WEB page to download it, the

the jar file sikulixsetup-1.1.3.jar default goes into the
/Users/<my name>/Downloads directory

So with out thinking about it, I double clicked on the sikulixsetup-1.1.3.jar
file to install it. But it was still in the Downloads directory.

At the end of the install there is a small window that comes up and says
you should move this to the /Applications directory.

But once Sikuli is installed, I don't know how to move it to the /Applications directory
on my Macintosh Laptop.

So all I am asking is, how do I move it to the /Applications directory ?
But in order to do that I would also have to know where all of the files
are located.

So if you could help me with these two things, it would be much appreciated.

1. Where are all of the files for Sikuli installed on a Macintosh Mojave
2. How to do I move them over to the /Applications directory

Thanks again for all of your help.

This you should read:

... lists the files, that are now in your downloads folder.

Collect these files and move them to a separate folder.

The thing to move to /Applications apparently is
