what is the .html file used for

in the .sikuli directories there is a .py python file and a .html file
What is the .html file used for ?

I usually don't use script.html.
When I have to explain SikuliX to others who don't know SikuliX, script.html is helpful as document. I can attach script.html and send a mail to them.
When I have to read long lines of script codes, I want to print script.html. So script.html is helpful in this case too.

OK, I think I get what you are saying, so just to make it clear:

I guess I should have asked, is the generated .html file used
or is it critical to running any tests that I create in sikuli?

My assumption from your answer is, NO, the .html file is just
there for either troubleshooting, or some kind of reference information
but not critical to running any sikuli test that I develop.

I think that is what you are saying.

As far as i can tell its used by the ide so you see actual images instead of xxxx.png. your script should run fine even if you delete the file. the ide will probably just recreate it next time you save the file
