Swopping between windows

Asked by PJeff Vallis on 2018-03-13

1.1.2(2018-03-08_08:37)/Linux4.13.0-36-generic/Java8(64)1.8.0_161-b12

I wish to load 2 browsers
     "chromium-browser"
     "firefox"
and swop between the 2 - both of which are fullscreen
Can anyone give me an example of code to use rather than confuse the issue with the code that I have tried

What did you try?

tried App.focus()?

What I want to do is
Open first browser and login
Open second browser and login as different user
Get Focus on first browser - do something
Get Focus on second browser - do something
get focus on first browser and close it

I am guessing that having opened first browser that its name for focus is not the browser name but the name of the tab and to get focus then I need to use its tab name - trouble is both browsers have the same tab name
Now that is just a guess so I was recluctant to paste my crap code

so yes I tried app focus and have since been wasting time tryig to find a way of renaming the tab through a terminal command

Other options are:
- arrange the windows so that clicking at an inactive area brings the window to front
- use a keyboard shortcut to select the other window

... and you might try using the wmctrl command yourself (subprocess.Popen)

Can you help with this problem?
