On Retina displays the images have to be shot with the SikuliX IDE.

And it is recommended to use SikuliX 1.1.1+

(this comment is written on a MacBook Pro Retina ;-)

start here: http://sikulix.com

--- this comment is written on a MacBook Pro Retina
... means: I am normally working on Macs and hence testing SikuliX on Macs and one of my Macs is a MacBook Pro Retina ;-)

If you use SikuliX as intended: no problems with Retina displays.

Images shot with SikuliX IDE features (capture button or hotkey) are always stored in the script, that is currently open in the IDE in the frontmost tab.

Before capturing with the SikuliX IDE features save the "Untitled" tab to some folder on the Desktop and name it as you like.
When finished with capturing, save again.

Now you have a folder on the Desktop you-named-it.sikuli, which contains you captured images.
