Text recognition is switched off despite setting in preferences in IDE

Asked by MJU

Hello *,

I try to recognize text from a region on my screen in my script run from the Sikuli IDE. However, Sikuli tells me that the text recognition is switched off:

[debug] Region: init: (133, 72, 51, 15)
[debug] Region: hover: R[133,72 51x15]@S(0)[0,0 1920x1080] E:Y, T:3,0
[error] text: text recognition is now switched off
[debug] Sikulix: cleanUp: 0

a. running on Ubuntu 14.04 or Win7
b. installed with tesseract option and downloaded tesseract-ocr-3.02.02 manually before running setup
c. on the Ubuntu system I have rerun the installation several times in different option combinations, deleting the content of the installation folder /home/..../SikuliX and the folder /home/<name>/.SikuliX
d. both text related options in the preferences in the IDE are checked.

So, do you have any suggestions what else I could try? Is there an option setting I can include into my script when running from the IDE? Is there parameter file which holds the preferences from IDE I could doublecheck in an editor?

Kind regards!

MJU
