Sikuli Slow (typing). Is there a way to speed it up?

I've read a few things about improving the speed of Sikuli for finding graphics/text, etc. However, what about typing?

Sometimes, Sikuli is slow typing a word. For example, I want it to type the word SNOW. It will type S and then pause for a few to many seconds. Then it might type N a few seconds before entering OW.

Does anyone know why this happens? Is there a way to fix it?

I'm fairly new to Sikuli, but I really like it so far!

what system, what java, what Sikuli(X)?

already tried to use paste() instead?
