[1.0.1] Alternative way to download the jar --- solution

Asked by Eugene S

----- solution

look faq 2363

-------------------------------------------------

I was trying to install the new release using the "fat" jar file according to the instructions.
However for some reason my download fails. I believe it to be some network restriction I have on this PC.

Is there any way I can perform the installation? Can I download the relevant file\s directly, not through the runSetup.cm installer?

I'm specifically interested in Pack 2 since I run the scripts from command line using sikuli-script.cmd.

Thanks!
Eugene

Thanks for your reply and the workaround.
Unfortunately, for some local reason, I can't access the file you have hosted (on Dropbox?). It might me some restriction rules on my current PC. Is there any option you could host it elsewhere?
Otherwise I will just download it later from the provided link and copy it to current PC.

Thanks,
Eugene

Yes it is Dropbox.

Is Dropbox generally blocked, or only specific file types, that are executable?

Just for a test: I have duplicated the jar file as .txt:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/42895525/SikuliX-1.0.1/sikuli-script-1.0.1.txt

If this does not work, I can send you the jar per mail as a zipped attachment (about 10MB).
If you want that: send a mail silently to my mail at: https://launchpad.net/~raimund-hocke

Hi RaiMan,

I have tried the proposed workaround and it worked.
Thank you!

Hi RaiMan,

It seems that you have deleted one of your comments here where you have explained how to install offline Sikuli. Since I can't download anything from the DropBox (not even the readme in the FAQ), and it did work for me the way you initially explained it, can you please do that again?

I remember that it included renaming the file you have sent me..

Currently I have Sikuli folder C:\SikuliX and inside I have these files:
runSetup.cmd
sikuli-script-1.0.1.jar
sikuli-setup.jar

How do I perform offline install in this case?

Thanks!
Eugene

Assuming that sikuli-script-1.0.1 is the one which you might have copied from the offline jars, now you just have to run the runSet.cmd via commandline and follow the installation steps.
Probably, you may have to check the second option alone in the installation ui and continue.

Yes, I deleted the comment, because the given approach is obsolete.

See the mentioned faq at the top, for the now official way.

Can you help with this problem?
