Record and Play back

Asked by Juan Pablo

Hi!
I've just read this document:
http://groups.csail.mit.edu/uid/projects/sikuli/sikuli-chi2010.pdf

I've found that the actual Sikuli apparently doesn't have the same functionality as the one described in the pdf.
Is the "Record and Playback" functionality coming anytime soon?

Thanks!
Juan Pablo

I do not think, that this will be a feature of Sikuli based on its current technology in the near future (Java does not allow to track mouse clicks and keyboard shortcuts , that are not for the running app (in this case Sikuli)).

The extension Guide was some trial in this direction, but it still relied on the user to implement some workflow. But it contains some features, that would allow to implement some "guided" recording. But this is surely not what you are looking for.

On the other hand: It is possible rather easy, to implement a Sikuli script, that runs in the background and is triggered with some shortcut keys, to support image capture and mouse/keyboard "recording".This could then generate a script, that can be rerun.

Can you help with this problem?
