onAppear java api related

Hi,

I am trying to use onAppear sikuli java library, but i didnt understood what needs to be passed in place of sikuliEventObserver.
 So can you help me in understanding what is sikuliEventObserver? what it does? and what needs to be passed in for using onAppear api? one eg would be great
